The PivotFrom a money tracker app to a financial system for events.
Nathaniel and I set out to build something meaningful — and we knew we'd need help along the way.
In early 2024, we started building a money tracker app to help Filipinos become more financially literate. That's where Typid began: my idea for a tool that could make money make sense.
Late in 2025, everything shifted. A friend asked us to help with a problem they kept running into — handling money and finances when organizing events. We pivoted. Our team shipped the MVP in December 2025.
Mobile AppStill live on iOS and Android
The money tracker app we first built is still on the App Store and Google Play. You can download it today — a snapshot of where Typid started before we pivoted to events.
Brand & Creative DirectionShaped Typid Events' visual identity and creative direction for the pivot.
When we pivoted to events, I rebuilt Typid's brand around a new promise: helping organizers handle money and finances with clarity. I designed the Typid Events website, marketing materials, product presentations, and digital assets that speak to event teams — building a cohesive experience across web and product that feels built for organizers, not personal budgeting.
I use AI-powered creative tools to explore concepts quickly, iterate on campaign and interface directions, and move faster without sacrificing quality. I work closely with developers so what we design for Typid Events ships as intended in production.
Product UI DesignLeading the UI design of our event management SaaS platform from concept through production.
I lead the UI design of our event management SaaS platform from concept through production — responsive interfaces, dashboards, ticketing flows, and administration tools. I build reusable components and stay in close collaboration with engineers throughout implementation so what we ship matches what we designed.
Marketing WebsiteLeading the creation of Typid Events' marketing website.
I lead the design and build of Typid's marketing website — the first place organizers learn what we do, how ticketing and finances work, and why Typid Events is built for their workflow.
Visit the websiteSocial Media MarketingCreating social media marketing assets that introduce Typid to organizers.
Beyond the website, I designed Typid's social media marketing assets — campaign creatives that explain the product in a scroll, from creating and publishing an event to selling tickets, checking in attendees, and seeing the money come in.
Each piece follows Typid's brand system: clear product messaging, bold visuals, and a consistent look across feed formats so organizers immediately recognize who we are and what we help them do.
Design SystemBuilding Flourish, Typid's official design system.
I'm currently building Flourish — the official documentation for Typid's design system. So far, I've built the icon set, defined the type scale, and established the color palette that anchors how Typid Events looks and feels across product and marketing.
The goal is to finalize the brand's vision in one place: a shared source of truth for components, patterns, and voice that keeps the team aligned as we grow Typid Events.

Key LearningsWhat building Typid taught me
Ship before you perfect.
One of the biggest lessons was realizing that speed creates better products than perfection. Every release generated conversations with real organizers, exposing problems and opportunities we would never have discovered in isolation. The faster we shipped, the faster we learned.
Product-market fit matters more than polishing features.
Building a great interface wasn't enough. What ultimately mattered was solving a problem people genuinely cared about. Pivoting early allowed us to redirect our effort toward a market with stronger demand and clearer customer value.
AI can accelerate development, but architecture still matters.
Our first version was built almost entirely through AI-assisted development. It allowed us to move incredibly fast during validation, but as the product grew, maintaining and extending the codebase became increasingly difficult.
Neither my co-founder nor I came from a software architecture background. While we could confidently lead product design and user experience, scaling the platform required deeper engineering expertise. Bringing on a third co-founder with strong technical architecture experience became a turning point that positioned Typid for long-term growth.
Building a company requires learning beyond design.
Working on Typid taught me that product design doesn't end with pixels. It includes customer interviews, product strategy, pricing, prioritization, marketing, validation, and making difficult business decisions. Designing the product was only one part of building the company.
